Assistant Manager Design

Division : C & I Lighting Location : Pune Function : Product Design Position : Manager – Product Development Responsibilities : Design new lighting products and systems, various components Key product types include indoor luminaires for use in Modern Workspaces, Retail, Industry etc. Work with industrial designers on mechanical design to convert concepts in to reality Work with development engineering team to meet program objectives including performance, scheduling and cost Work with cross-functional teams to complete components, subsystem and system verification and validation Develop innovative designs to meet all requirements for functionality, performance, reliability, serviceability, cost and manufacturability. Engage in all phases of new product development, including concept, engineering, documentation, prototype, test, supplier interfaces, manufacturing introduction and launch. Create 3D models, assemblies, drawings and design documents. Perform tolerance analysis and ensure design for manufacturability Support Sales & Marketing team on customisation of products. Explore new materials, processes, develop new vendors. Prototype making for design simulation and validation Optimize the design for cost competitiveness and manufacturability. Driving the performance of 2-3 team members. Qualification : BTech/BE: Mechanical Engineering from accredited university At least 10 years engineering experience with BTech degree Experience with demonstrated capabilities in 3D CAD design and tolerance analysis Good understanding of sheet metal fabrication, casting and plastic injection processes, mechanical design experience. Experience of lighting product design is preferred. Desired skills and qualities : Woking knowledge of 3D CAD, Solid Edge / Solid Works preferred Proactive, innovative, energetic, result oriented outstanding team player with good communications and influential skills. Experience and ability to meet aggressive reliability, manufacturability, performance, cost, serviceability, and delivery targets. Ability to develop unique concepts/solutions for complex products and attention to detail and ability work independently toward timely completion of projects Hands on experience on shop floor will be an added advantage Demonstrated experience in building engineering prototypes and conducting design validation tests Team handling experience.
