Job Summary
responsible for ensuring that all products meet the required quality standards to minimize quality costs and maximize customer satisfaction. The role focuses on maintaining compliance with quality systems, driving continuous improvement, resolving quality issues, and supporting new product development while ensuring adherence to manufacturing processes and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Management
- Ensure all manufactured products comply with defined quality standards and customer requirements.
- Verify that incoming materials meet established quality specifications.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve product and process quality issues using structured root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies.
- Lead customer complaint resolution and warranty issue closure within agreed timelines.
- Manage supplier quality performance and coordinate corrective actions with vendors.
- Support new product introductions by validating product quality and manufacturing readiness.
- Conduct product, process, supplier, and system audits.
- Ensure implementation and maintenance of Control Plans, Inspection Plans, SOPs, and quality documentation.
- Monitor, analyze, and report Quality KPIs including PPM, supplier performance, customer complaints, and warranty indicators.
- Stop production when non-conforming products or unsafe processes are identified.
Continuous Improvement
- Drive defect prevention, waste reduction, process variation reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Participate in Design and Process FMEA development and updates.
- Lead process improvement projects using quality tools and best manufacturing practices.
- Conduct benchmarking studies to identify industry best practices and future trends.
- Support implementation and maintenance of Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
Supplier & Customer Quality
- Manage Supplier Performance Metrics (SPM) and Vendor PPM.
- Coordinate supplier quality problem-solving, cost recovery, warranty claims, and corrective actions.
- Provide technical support to customers and internal teams.
- Ensure timely closure of customer complaints with effective corrective and preventive actions.
Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare product test procedures and quality documentation.
- Generate quality reports, KPI dashboards, and management presentations.
- Plan and manage quality projects independently.
- Participate in internal and external quality audits.
- Maintain complete records of quality activities and compliance requirements.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Work closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, R&D, Procurement, and Suppliers to resolve quality issues.
- Train Vendor Team on quality awareness and best practices.
- Participate in cross-functional teams for product development and process improvements.
- Independently manage multiple quality projects with minimal supervision.
Mandatory Skills & Experience
- Strong testing and manufacturing knowledge of LED lighting products, including:
- Street Lights
- 2x2 Panel Lights
- Linear Lights
- Flood Lights
- High Bay Lights
- Downlights
- IoT-enabled Lighting
- Sensors
- Lighting Poles
- High Mast Lighting Systems
- Practical knowledge of IS 10322 testing requirements and BIS compliance.
- Hands-on experience in validation and qualification of lighting products.
- Strong understanding of lighting product testing, reliability, and certification processes.
- Experience in Supplier Quality Management and Vendor Development.
- Proven ability to resolve customer complaints within committed timelines.
- Knowledge in Root Cause Analysis, CAPA, 8D
- Working knowledge of Quality Management Systems including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001.
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects independently with minimal supervision.
