Technical Controller

Responsibilities
• Technical expertise in financial reporting under multiple frameworks. The candidate is required to Research, interpret and document complex accounting treatments.
• Have deep understanding of literature and connect the concept to the operating business environment to facilitate resolution.
• The responsibility involves framing the organizational position, preparing the technical memos, socializing the same with the business teams and auditors to have an agreed view on reporting.
• The responsibility is to ensure recording in the books is in compliance with the literature with appropriate disclosures and accounting treatment in the financial statement with clean audits.
• The individual should have an understanding of the industry practice on various technical matters.
• Provide technical guidance on accounting implications of new business transactions, contracts, and restructuring and prepare position papers for management and audit.
• Monitor updates to GAAP and related accounting standards and assess their impact on the company’s financial statements.
• Collaborate with other functions especially business controllers, tax, legal and treasury to evaluate accounting implications of various activities.
• Implement new accounting standards and provide training and guidance to finance teams. Required skills and qualifications.

Experience
12-15 years, CA with Big 4 or controllership role in a large corporate
