Job Title: Engineer / Senior Engineer- Sourcing and Supply Chain - Europe Sourcing
Job Location: Bangalore, Peenya

Role Overview:
This role is pivotal in developing new suppliers and managing logistics to enhance cost-effectiveness across  Europe operations. The position is split into two main functions: Supplier Development (70%) and Supplier Quality (30%).

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Supplier Development (70%)
    • Conduct comprehensive cross-functional reviews to qualify and approve new suppliers, parts, products, or components.
    • Engage in continuous supplier development projects aimed at minimizing costs and maximizing capacity and output.
    • Perform audits to ensure strict adherence to established processes and manage specific customer requirements.
    • Provide technical support and facilitate new product launches with suppliers, achieving critical milestones.
    • Implement cost reduction projects, improve payment terms, consolidate logistics, and pursue other continuous improvement initiatives.
  2. Supplier Quality (30%)
    • Lead the assessment and approval of new suppliers through detailed audits.
    • Work closely with the engineering team to establish and ensure process parameters for supplier capability.
    • Support new product introductions by ensuring supplier adherence to quality standards.
    • Drive root cause analysis and develop corrective action plans to prevent production disruptions related to supplier quality issues.
    • Maintain continuous improvement in supplier performance post-new introductions.
    • Conduct on-site visits for analysis, verification of actions, and deliver supplier training on quality awareness.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Education: Engineering degree required.
  • Experience: 5-8 years in Supplier Development and Supplier Quality within manufacturing sectors, preferably automotive.
  • Skills:
    • Expertise in vendor qualification, Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), and Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA).
    • Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings.
    • Demonstrated experience in strategic sourcing and quality assurance.
    • Strong project management, organizational, and time management skills.
    • Ability to thrive in dynamic, cross-disciplinary, and multicultural settings.
    • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage stress and uphold high ethical standards.
    • Analytical mindset capable of making proactive, informed decisions.

This role requires regular interaction across various levels of the organization and with suppliers internationally, necessitating excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
