Job Title: Senior Project Leader - R&D
Job Location: Peenya, Bangalore

Role Overview:
The Senior Project Leader - R&D will lead the design, development, and validation of high-precision engineered products, focusing on hydraulic cylinders within specified cost and delivery constraints. This role requires a proactive collaboration with global customers and cross-geographical teams to meet strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Interaction: Engage directly with customers to gather critical data and understand their requirements.
  • Product Innovation: Design and develop new products, ensuring innovative and cost-effective solutions.
  • Vendor Collaboration: Liaise with vendors for the acquisition of new technologies and resolution of technical challenges.
  • Global Collaboration: Work with global clients in the development of products and ensure alignment with international standards.
  • Team Coordination: Collaborate with various teams across different geographies to create plans that align with organizational goals.
  • Leadership: Lead project teams as needed, ensuring effective management and support.

Skill Requirements:

Technical Skills:

  • Strong engineering design skills, including Machine Design and Strength of Materials.
  • Proficiency in Product Design and Development tools such as CAD (Pro Engineer), CAM, CAE, FMEA, GD&T, along with Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes including welding, grinding, plating, painting, and heat treatments.
  • Preferred experience in the hydraulic industry.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Quality Systems such as ISO 9000, QS 9000, and TS16949.

Soft Skills:

  • Communication: Excellent proficiency in written and verbal English with the ability to create clear, fluent, and concise communications.
  • Team Collaboration: Proven ability to work in boundaryless team environments, fostering cooperation and motivation among team members.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with a diplomatic approach to resolve issues.
  • Leadership and Management: Effective in leading meetings and discussions with both internal teams and external clients.
  • Crisis Management: Skilled in planning, analysis, and adaptability, with a focus on resolving crises effectively.

Educational Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BE) or Associate Member of the Institution of Engineers (AMIE) with a strong academic record.

Experience:
12 to 16 years of relevant experience in the precision mechanical engineering industry, particularly in R&D or Prototype Development.
