Responsibilities:

  • Develop, plan, and implement the company's Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) strategy, goals, objectives, and programs at the plant level.
  • Lead and oversee EHS activities at the plant, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies.
  • Conduct regular follow-ups on EHS tasks, emergency drills, internal audits, and training activities, ensuring corrective actions from audits are executed effectively.
  • Prepare and deliver management review reports, presentations, and coordinate relevant EHS meetings.
  • Design, schedule, and coordinate comprehensive EHS training programs for all staff.
  • Implement, enforce, and communicate all EHS policies and procedures.
  • Lead and facilitate regional EHS meetings, prepare meeting minutes, and diligently track follow-up actions.
  • Conduct EHS audits regularly and ensure timely corrective actions are implemented.
  • Review and enhance hazard identification and risk assessment procedures.
  • Conduct detailed root cause analyses for EHS incidents and prepare comprehensive incident reports.
  • Monitor workplace conditions to identify hazardous or unsafe situations and occupational health hazards, proactively suggesting corrective actions.
  • Develop and implement measures ensuring personnel safety, correcting unsafe acts or conditions through regular inspections and audits.
  • Investigate all workplace accidents, near-misses, and incidents thoroughly.
  • Perform risk assessments, enforce preventive measures, and maintain a hazard-free workplace environment.
  • Promote and advocate safe work practices in manufacturing and associated areas.
  • Actively intervene to stop any unsafe acts or processes that pose immediate danger or health risks.
  • Conduct thorough job hazard analyses and maintain relevant documentation.
  • Organize and lead regular safety meetings, addressing employee concerns and suggestions.
  • Review and approve all subcontractors for safety compliance and issue safety permits for activities within company premises.
  • Prepare, submit, and coordinate registrations, renewals, and monthly/yearly regulatory filings to KSPCB and other relevant authorities.
  • Oversee the proper handling, documentation, and filing related to hazardous and other types of waste.
  • Plan, coordinate, and conduct emergency preparedness drills and exercises.
  • Provide comprehensive Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) training for employees and executives.
  • Generate detailed reports on safety incidents and compile statistical analyses for senior management review.
  • Actively participate in operational planning meetings to proactively address inherent health and safety concerns.
  • Maintain and continually improve systems aligned with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, including document preparation and conducting internal audits.
  • Possess specialized knowledge of safety standards specific to chemical processing plants and machinery manufacturing facilities.

Requirements:

  • PG Diploma in Industrial Management with a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Sciences /Safety Engineering, or a related discipline. Certification from recognized EHS institutions is advantageous.
  • Certified Internal Auditor for ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
  • Solid understanding of EHS-related legal and regulatory requirements applicable to the manufacturing industry.
  • Demonstrable experience in EHS leadership roles within multinational or regionally structured organizations.
  • Proven ability to drive results, manage changes effectively, and align safety practices with business objectives.
  • Strong familiarity and proven application experience with EHS management systems.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • High proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Minimum of 5 to 6 years of relevant EHS experience, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
