Requisition ID:  3113
Description:

JD for NPD

1. Role Purpose

Coordinate NPD and operations planning activities from material readiness through assembly, painting, dispatch, and system closure. The role maintains accurate MIS visibility, drives daily plan achievement, identifies gaps and shortages, and supports cross-functional execution from prototype to product launch.

2. Key Result Areas and Responsibilities

Planning, MIS and execution control

  • Prepare and maintain the daily and weekly MIS covering planned quantity, actual completion, balance, constraints, ownership, and recovery date.
  • Update completed-work status using verified shopfloor and system data within the agreed reporting cycle.
  • Compare daily plan versus actual performance, quantify the gap, identify the root cause with the responsible function, and maintain a recovery-action tracker.
  • Drive daily plan completion of at least 80%. Escalate material, capacity, quality, tooling, or process risks early and coordinate recovery actions.
  • Monitor assembly-plan completion by product or work order and communicate plan-versus-actual status, shortages, and priorities to stakeholders.
  • Maintain TGW and related status reports with current stage, owner, due date, ageing, and closure evidence.

Material readiness and flow coordination

  • Confirm child-part requirements against the approved assembly and machine-shop plan before execution.
  • Coordinate timely movement of child parts among stores, machine shop, assembly, painting, and dispatch, with traceable handover status.
  • Prepare assembly and machine-shop shortage reports showing required quantity, available quantity, shortage, source, owner, and expected availability date.
  • Follow up open shortages to closure and escalate items that threaten the committed plan.
  • Coordinate painting activities from release through plant completion and dispatch and report pending quantities and constraints.

Tooling, fixtures and prototype readiness

  • Identify fixture and tooling needs from the build plan, raise requirements with complete technical and delivery details, and maintain a tracker until availability and acceptance.
  • Validate fixture and tooling readiness before planned use and coordinate closure of trial or acceptance issues.
  • Follow up prototype posting and routing activities to ensure transactions, operation sequences, and status are correctly completed before the next process stage.
  • Coordinate with Production Planning, Production Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Stores, suppliers, and other functions to support prototype and NPD build readiness.
  • Maintain Proto and PPAP build documentation, process sheets, inspection records, testing outputs, open-issue lists, and closure evidence.

Inventory, quality and loss control

  • Reconcile inventory-system balances with physical stock for assigned parts and initiate correction of identified variances through the authorized process.
  • Monitor scrap and rejection quantities, ensure segregation and recording, and coordinate disposition or corrective-action follow-up with Quality and Production.
  • Track recurring material, quality, routing, or process issues; maintain ownership and target dates until verified closure.
  • Ensure all reports and trackers are accurate, traceable, version-controlled, and available for review.

3. Key Interfaces

Production Planning, Production Engineering, Manufacturing, Machine Shop, Assembly, Quality Assurance, Stores, Painting, Dispatch, Suppliers, Vendors, and Contractors.

4. Qualification and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical, Production, Industrial, Automobile
  • Preferred experience: 5 to 10 years in New Product Development, production planning, manufacturing coordination, or a similar role in hydraulic cylinder filed
  • Practical exposure to prototype builds, shop-floor planning, material follow-up, and cross-functional coordination is preferred.

5. Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Engineering drawing interpretation and basic manufacturing-process knowledge.
  • Understanding of customer-specific requirements in line with business objectives.
  • Project planning, prioritization, follow-up, and status reporting.
  • MIS preparation and working knowledge of spreadsheets and ERP or inventory systems.
  • Material planning, shortage tracking, inventory reconciliation, and routing or posting discipline.
  • Problem solving, gap analysis, timely escalation, and corrective-action follow-up.
  • Influencing, facilitation, communication, and coordination across functions and external partners.
  • Attention to detail, ownership, and the ability to work on daily NPD production priorities.
