Qualification: B. Tech -Mech / MBA/PG Diploma in Materials or Supply Chain preferred.

Desired Experience required: Above 18 plus years (Preferably from Tier 1 to OEM supplier experience).

Eligibility criteria for Internal applicants:  

• Minimum 2 years’ experience required in the current role (mandatory)
• Employees should have performance rating of HVC and above in last 2 years.

Strong hands-on experience with:

• • Steel raw materials, round bars/rods and tubes
  • Direct interaction and negotiation with steel mills
  • Domestic procurement plus imports
  • Material planning/MRP, safety stock and buffer management
  • Inventory optimization and slow/non-moving inventory reduction
  • Supplier development and alternate-source development
  • PPC/material planning integration
  • Inbound logistics and warehouse management
  • SAP MM + PP

Key Skills Required:

1. Material availability & PPC

• Ensure RM/BOP availability against monthly and weekly production requirements.
• Translate demand into MRP and supplier schedules.
• Establish appropriate safety-stock/buffer strategy.
• Daily shortage review with Production/PPC

2. Raw material & steel-mill management

• Direct management of round bar/rod/tube sourcing.
• Steel mill allocation, schedules, lead-time tracking and escalation.
• Develop alternate sources for supply-risk mitigation.
• Monitor RM cost, MOQ and commercial terms.

3. Inventory

• RM/WIP/FG inventory control.
• ABC/XYZ and ageing analysis.
• Reduce excess, obsolete and slow-moving inventory.
• Cycle counting and inventory accuracy.
• Establish Min-Max/reorder levels for critical materials.

4. Supplier & sourcing management

• Supplier identification, qualification and development.
• Capacity validation for critical suppliers.
• Delivery-performance monitoring and recovery plans.
• Commercial negotiations and cost reduction.
• Import supplier/order management.

5. Logistics & warehouse

• Incoming-material planning.
• Warehouse discipline, FIFO and traceability.
• Transport optimisation and premium-freight control.
• Close coordination between Purchase, Stores, PPC, Quality and Production.
