Job Title: Assistant Manager - EHS                  

Function / Department: EHS

Grade: E. For Wipro Water B3

Qualification: Diploma / BE Mechanical, And Diploma in Industrial safety recognized by the Govt of India.

Engineering / Diploma in Environmental Science would be preferred

Desired Experience required: 09-10 years

Eligibility criteria for Internal applicants:  

• Minimum 2 years’ experience required in the current role (mandatory).
• Employees should have performance rating of HVC and above in last 2 years.

Job Description:

• EHS coordinator for the Factory

• Enhance and Ensure Safety Culture in the Plant

• Conduct Safety Patrols, machine audits, PPE adherence audit
• Highlights unsafe acts and conditions in the Plant to respective Shop managers/Plant head and facilitate closure of gaps with Process Owners

• Ensures that all facilities are following Safety and Environmental Statutory and Regulatory requirements

• Ensure adherence to Work permit system and related requirements for Plant activities.

• Conducts Safety committee meetings and facilitates closure of identified points.
• Provides EHS training to employees of all Categories in the Plant and ensure they are aligned with EHS requirements, regulations & policies.
• Establishes clear procedures wrt Safety and Environment  
• Facilitates and guides Plant team to fulfil ISO 14001 and 45001 requirements including preparation of HIRA and Aspect Impact Study. Carry out internal audits.
• Maintain a system for recording, reporting, and investigating injuries, accidents, and Environmental incidents.
• Conducting mock drills on periodic basis, assist in emergency planning, fire preventive measures, firefighting adequacy & necessary trainings.
• Monitoring of STP/ETP performance, ensuring hazardous waste disposal as per requirement.

• Carrying out monthly monitoring of Ambient air, noise, water, STP/ETP treated water, soil, indoor air monitoring and ensuring the results are within the limits & report abnormality.

• Ensure lifting tools and tackles, pressure vessels are tested on periodic basis.
• Ensuring condition of fire extinguishers, fire hydrant system & fire alarm system and verification by Third party
• Ensuring health check of employees on periodic basis as per the factory rule.
• Drive Sustainability initiatives like energy, water, waste, fuel consumption reduction and co-ordinate for collection of Environment data from respective stakeholders and report.
• Learn new requirements/best practices for the plant & implement as needed
• Drive Promotional campaigns to enhance Safety and Sustainability commitment
• Facilitate shop supervisors for safety & environment improvements in respective processes.
• Coordinate for ISO 14001 / 45001 internal audits, external audits and Customer audits wrt EHS

• Maintenance of EHS documents as per the Organisation requirements  

• Monthly document preparation for safety and sustainability management review.
