Role Description:
Responsible for planning, coordinating, supervising, validating, and continuously improving welding activities related to prototype and product development projects. The role involves weld qualification, welding process control, robotic and manual welding operations, NDT coordination, welding documentation, supplier coordination, and ensuring compliance with quality and safety requirements.
The incumbent shall act as the Welding Coordinator/Supervisor and ensure that welded products are manufactured in accordance with applicable drawings, customer requirements, welding standards, and approved procedures.
Additionally, the role involves:
- Reviewing engineering drawings, specifications, weld profiles, and customer requirements.
- Planning and executing weld qualification activities for new product developments.
- Coordinating welding trials, prototype builds, and process validation activities.
- Managing welding consumables, welding equipment, and welding cell operations.
- Ensuring compliance with approved WPS, PQR, and welding procedures.
- Supporting quality assurance through inspection, testing, and documentation activities.
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives related to quality, productivity, cost, and delivery.
Qualification:
- Degree in Welding Engineering / Mechanical Engineering
OR - Diploma in Welding Engineering / Mechanical Engineering
Desired Experience:
- 5 to 8 years of experience in Welding Engineering, Welding Supervision, Fabrication, Prototype Development, or Manufacturing Engineering.
Eligibility Criteria for Internal Applicants:
- Minimum experience in the current role: 2 years
- Minimum performance criteria (HVC/MR for last 2 years): HVC
- Grade criteria: WIN F1 / WIN F / WIPRO WATER B2 / WIPRO WATER B1

Manufacturing Facilities & Equipment
- Selection of suitable welding equipment and associated manufacturing facilities.

- Welding consumable storage and handling practices
EHS & Compliance
- Ensuring compliance with welding safety requirements.
- Verification and enforcement of PPE usage.
