Desired Candidate Profile:

 

Qualifications:

Desired Experience: Yrs of Exp / Nature of Exp
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline

8 to 12 years of progressive experience in mechanical procurement 
Experience from water treatment industry will be preferred 

Key Skills Required: Areas of expertise / skills
  • Strong expertise in handling end-to-end procurement of mechanical bought-out items and packages in large-scale projects.
  • Proven track record in vendor selection, supplier development, and strategic negotiations.
  • Ability to lead procurement independently and manage cross-functional stakeholder relationships effectively.
  • Knowledge of suppliers in the water treatment industry is an added advantage.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP – MM module is desirable.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Position Details

 

Key Accountabilities: List the key areas of responsibility
  • Spearhead procurement activities for mechanical packages across multiple projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and project timelines.
  • Drive cost optimization and savings targets through strategic sourcing, vendor negotiations, and long-term procurement planning.
  • Oversee vendor development initiatives, building a robust supplier base and ensuring performance standards are consistently met.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineering teams, and concerned teams to ensure seamless procurement execution and timely resolution of issues.
  • Establish procurement strategies for complex mechanical packages (pumps, blowers, rotary equipment, valves, HRSCC, DAF systems, etc.) and ensure adherence to budgets.
  • Monitor supplier performance, manage escalations, and ensure timely delivery of materials to Factory and project sites.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, contractual obligations, and industry standards in all procurement activities.
  • Oversee timely vendor payments in coordination with finance/accounts, maintaining healthy supplier relationships.
